In the spring of 2007 while attending an Advisory Board meeting I became aware of the need for a "study hall" type program at our school. The importance of reinforcement of class work with homework is crucial. Many of our students have trouble keeping up with homework assignments for a variety of reasons. Study Buddies was created with the idea that if we could foster an environment where teachers could send students they feel would benefit from some time each week to work on homework in an organized, supervised, structured environment we could positively impact the future success of these students. We rely on volunteers to support this program. Study Buddies takes place every Thursday from 1:30 until 2:45 in room 222. No experience is necessary. No advanced tutoring skills are needed.
