2008-2009 Fundraising

In times such as these when budget cuts abound, schools are being asked to do more with less. A new board of education policy prevents schools from charging students for anything that is used for their education (i.e. agendas, Weekly Readers, cooking fees, etc.) These costs will be absorbed by our school's budget, which means there will be fewer funds for other necessary items. This is why BSE PTO needs to step up to the plate and work together to help ensure that our children have what they need to be successful students.

This year, our goal of $20,000 will allow us to purchase the following:

• New art room furniture
• New counseling program for Ms. Sharon
• Positive Behavior incentives
• Electronic Subscriptions for Accelerated Reader, Discovery Education, BrainPOP, and a school-site movie license
• School-wide assemblies/performances
• Professional development books and opportunities for teachers
• Musical performances for Cub Chorus
• More books for classroom libraries
• Supplies for monthly birthday parties
